Plan before you buy

How many bags?

Enter the area you want to mulch. We use approximately 3m² per 100L / 9kg bag and round up to a whole bag.

For several borders, add their areas together. For a rectangular border, multiply length by width in metres.

For 6m², allow approximately 2 bags.

An estimate, not a guarantee. Follow the instructions on your bag and allow for uneven ground.

Why choose Strulch?

Practical protection for your planting.

Keep weeds down

Helps reduce weed growth by up to 95% when correctly applied to prepared soil.

Hold on to moisture

A surface layer helps reduce moisture loss and gradually adds organic matter to the soil.

Help deter slugs & snails

The straw texture and embedded minerals help discourage slugs and snails. Results depend on conditions.

Simple to apply

Prepare. Spread. Water.

  1. Remove existing weeds and water the soil if it is dry.
  2. Spread Strulch evenly 3–4cm deep around established plants.
  3. Keep a clear gap around stems and trunks.
  4. Water well after application to settle the mulch. Check occasionally and top up thin or disturbed areas.

Wear gloves when handling. Store unused bags dry and keep dry mulch away from sources of ignition. Always follow the instructions on your bag.

A few useful answers.
