The Photinia serratifolia Pink Crispy, or chinese hawthorn, is an evergreen shrub whose young leaves are a magnificent pink with pale marbling. The mature leaves turn green with creamy-white veins. The plant can easily grow to a height of 175cm and is easy to prune. Pruning makes the plant fuller, we'd recommend to do this if you're using this plant as a hedge so it encourages the handsome pink. It prefer a half day or so of full sun and will grow well in most soils.

Photinias are relatively low maintenance plants once established. Water thoroughly throughout the growing season until established. If you are growing your Photinia as a hedge, you can trim the plant 2-3 times a year from late June through to Mid August. Feed annually with some well rotted compost/manure.
